We advise organisations on data protection, so we hold ourselves to the same standard. This notice explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect and why

Enquiry form. Your name, email, optional phone number, organisation, topic and message. We use them only to reply to your enquiry and, if you engage us, to arrange the work. Our lawful basis is your consent and steps taken at your request before a contract.
Emails and calls. If you contact us directly we keep the correspondence to deal with your request.
Technical data. Our hosting provider processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not use this to identify you.

We do not use advertising trackers or analytics cookies, we do not sell personal data, and we do not use your enquiry to build marketing lists.

Cloudflare hosts this website and checks form submissions for spam.
Our email service provider delivers form submissions to our inbox.

These providers process data on our behalf under their data processing terms. Some of them process data outside Nigeria. Where that happens we rely on the transfer safeguards in their terms, as the NDPA requires.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they lead to an engagement, in which case they become part of the client record and follow our client retention schedule.

How we protect it

The site is served only over encrypted connections. Form submissions are emailed to us and are not stored in a website database. Access to our inbox is limited and protected with multi factor authentication.

Your rights and data subject requests

You can ask us to:

confirm whether we hold personal data about you and give you a copy;
correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
delete your data;
stop or restrict how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time;
give you your data in a portable format.

To make a request, email info@safedatech.com with the subject "Data subject request". We may ask you to confirm your identity. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Cookie policy

This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Fonts are served from our own site, so no third party font service sees your visit. If spam protection is active on the enquiry form, Cloudflare Turnstile may process technical signals from your browser to check that a person, not a bot, is sending the form. It is used only for that purpose.

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
